We are a locally owned, family-run business specializing in hand-popped popcorn in various flavors. Brently and I met at college in the late nineties and became Space Camp counselors shortly after the meeting. Self-proclaimed "space geeks," we have called Huntsville home for close to thirty years and brently had the idea of starting a kettle corn company after seeing a fellow vendor, now a dear friend, at a festival. After a couple of years of research, saving, and prayers, we took a massive leap of faith and launched Rocket City Popperz on February 28, 2020.
The following month, we were hit with the COVID pandemic, and everything shut down, leaving us, like so many others, uncertain. We adapted and started a delivery service bringing our comfort snacks to doorsteps across Madison, Morgan, and Limestone counties. This concept and the overwhelming support of our community helped get us to where we are today.
RCPz popcorn flavors consist of unique recipes with a flavor selection often inspired by customer requests. Our popcorn kernels are hand stirred in a 160-quart stainless steel kettle using a hand-carved maple wooden paddle, where it is carefully gone over hot oil until the kernels start to pop, bringing not only a sense of nostalgia but also a fragrant aroma of freshly popped popcorn with each batch.
